Indication

The Nautilus thrombus extraction catheter is particularly indicated for:

The extraction of soft, recently formed emboli and thrombi in the peripheral arterial system.

The extraction of soft, recently formed emboli and thrombi in the blood vessels of the deep venous system.

The extraction of soft, recently-formed emboli and thrombi from the trunk of the pulmonary arteries and its branches, as treatment for acute pulmonary embolism in patients for whom surgical or lytic therapy is not indicated.

To infuse/administer diagnostic or therapeutic agents.

Description

nautilus thrombus extraction catheter is a coaxial catheter with a double parallel light from the connector to the tip. The smaller channel is designed to allow passage of the guide, which takes the product to the thrombosed area, while the channel with the bigger internal light allows the extraction of large thrombi when the system is connected to the extraction syringe included in the packaging. The catheter has a rounded distal tip and a proximal connector. The tip incorporates a radiopaque marker so that the position of the catheter is known at all times while it is inserted in the patient’s vasculature. In addition, there is a further radiopaque marker 15 mm from this marker, which delimits the beginning of the bevel, indicating the point at which the catheter can begin aspirating.

The connector is Y-shaped and has two entry ports: The side port is the extraction port, to which the following accessories can be attached: a three-way valve, a flow regulator with extension line and an extraction syringe. This port connects directly to the large lumen with a bevelled distal end, enabling the entry of the thrombus.

The straight port is the passage port for the guidewire. This port ends in a haemostatic valve to prevent excessive blood loss. It connects with the passage lumen for the guidewire, which ends at the distal tip. The maximum diameter of the guidewire must not be greater than 0.89 mm = 0.035”. Externally, the catheter is compatible with a 10F introducer. The proximal section is rigid to enable pushing of the catheter, while the distal section is flexible to enable its navigability inside the vasculature. The distal section of the catheter has a durable hydrophilic coating applied by immersion, which provides the catheter with lubricity, thus improving navigation. The length of the catheter is 120 cm. The catheter comes together with an extraction syringe, a three-way valve and a flow regulator with extension line.
